It’s A Scam

Yet another internet scam. I received an e-mail from Mr. Daniel Liu at asiaregistry.org.cn saying that someone in China wanted to set up some domains using my company name. That was followed up by an e-mail from a Gareth Rao saying, “We will register the China domain names “aulisinsights.cn” “aulisinsights.com.cn” “aulisinsights.net.cn” “aulisinsights.org.cn” and internet keyword “aulisinsights” and have submitted our application. We are waiting for Mr. Daniel Liu’s approval and think these CN domains and internet keyword are very important for our business. Even though Mr. Daniel Liu advises us to change another name, we will persist in this name. Although I initially replied politely, something didn’t smell right so I did a little research and came across this site (there are others):

It’s a scam. I have forwarded the e-mails to the above site and look forward to following their advice in the future. Stay alert!
